Pledges and Refunds

When Pledges Are Refundable

  • - After the group buy end date is reached
  • - If you don't purchase during the group buy period
  • - If a group buy is cancelled for any reason

Important Refund Information

Processing Fee: All refunds include a 3% processing fee deducted by Stripe (our payment processor), not by us.

Non-Refundable Pledges: If you pledge AND purchase a group buy item under the same pledge, your pledge becomes non-refundable as it was applied toward your purchase.

Refund Timeline: Refunds are processed 5-10 business days after the group buy deadline passes.

Example Scenarios:

- Pledge $15, don't buy during GB → Get $14.55 refund (minus 3% fee)

- Pledge $15, buy $385 item during GB → No pledge refund (applied to purchase)

- Pledge $15, GB gets cancelled → Get $14.55 refund (minus 3% fee)

Group Buy Purchases

No Refund Policy

Group buy purchases have a no refund policy by default. This protects us legally from litigious or predatory behavior.

Think carefully before purchasing - group buy sales are final.

We'll Work With You

Despite the no-refund policy, we happily work with customers on a case-by-case basis for legitimate product issues. We'll consider providing refunds or replacements for:

  • - Damaged product during shipping
  • - Product with machining errors
  • - Missing items from order
  • - Wrong item received
  • - Non-functional PCB or electronics
  • - Damaged accessories
  • - Wrong finishing color
  • - Major visible finishing errors

Shipping and Delivery

Shipping Timeline

Manufacturing Time: Group buy items take significant time to ship as they're manufactured after the group buy closes.

Stay Updated: Check project pages for timeline updates and manufacturing progress.

No Progress Emails: We won't email you until we have tracking information to share.

Full Value Insurance

All items are shipped with full value insurance coverage. This protects you in case of loss or damage during shipping. If something happens to your package, we've got you covered.

What to Expect:

1. Group buy closes → Manufacturing begins

2. Monitor project page for timeline updates

3. Receive tracking email when items ship

4. Full insurance coverage throughout delivery

Email Communications

Pledge Email Consent

By pledging to a project, you automatically opt into receiving group buy announcement emails with private order links for that specific project. This is essential for the pledge-to-group buy system to work.

Email Types You'll Receive:

If You Pledge:

  • - Pledge confirmation
  • - Group buy launch notification
  • - Private purchase link

If You Purchase:

  • - Order confirmation
  • - Shipping tracking (when available)

We never send marketing emails, newsletters, or promotional content.

Returns and Replacements

While group buy purchases are generally final, we stand behind our products and will work with you to resolve legitimate issues based on our judgement.

Payment Processing

All payments are processed securely through Stripe. We never store or have access to your payment information. Payment processing fees are handled by Stripe.

Project Participation

Pledges fund product development and don't guarantee final product delivery. Group buy purchases are for actual products with manufacturing and shipping timelines clearly communicated on project pages.

We believe in resolving issues fairly and directly. Contact us first for any problems - we're committed to working with customers in good faith to find reasonable solutions.
