How BLACKdrop works
You help a product get made. Everyone pitching in together lets us make it as affordably as possible, and any money saved goes back to you, every time.
Pledge Phase
Pay a deposit for each unit you plan to buy. It pays for development and prototyping.
Prototyping
We test prototypes and improve the product, sometimes over a few rounds.
Group Buy
Order the project and pay the remaining balance due. The more people order, the lower the price.
In Production
We make it and ship it. If a lower price unlocked, you get the difference back.
Only pledge if you plan to buy
Each pledge counts as a unit we expect to sell, and we set the prices from that count. A pledge that never becomes an order hurts the project. Unused deposits are refunded after the group buy.
Public GB
Anyone can pledge or buy. People who didn't pledge pay a small markup.
Private GB
Only people on the project's list can pledge or buy. Pledging adds you to the list. No markup.
